『みすず』2018年1・2月合併号「読書アンケート特集」で、谷川渥氏が拙著『ユートピア都市の書法』を挙げてくださいました。
『図書新聞』2018年3月3日号にて、多賀茂氏（フランス18世紀研究）が拙著『ユートピア都市の書法：クロード=ニコラ・ルドゥの建築思想』法政大学出版局、2017年を評してくださいました（「 ルドゥのたぐいまれな想像力に真正面から取り組む――建築と人間との多様で不可避な関係を見事に描き出す」）。

自分の顔を見るのが難しいように、書いたテクストも活字になると自分から逃れ去っていってしまうような気がするのですが、この書評では拙著の要旨と研究史における位置付け、そして賭金を、明晰に説明していただきました。
紙面では「建築・美学・批評：芸術を哲学する五冊」と題されたコーナーで、アドルフ・ロース『ポチョムキン都市』、アーサー・C. ダントー『ありふれたものの変容：芸術の哲学』、田之頭一知『美と藝術の扉』、ノエル・キャロル『批評について：芸術批評の哲学』とともにご紹介いただいています。
表象文化論学会誌『表象』第12号（2018年）に、大橋完太郎氏による書評が掲載されています。テクストとしても「読ませる」魅力を持ち、さらには著者である私自身が実は巧く言語化できていなかった著作の賭金と、さらには次なる課題を剔抉する書評。

「［…］色を意味するパルマコンという単語は、まさに魔法使いや医者の薬にも適用されるものではないか。呪術師たちは呪文を唱える際に小さな蝋人形に頼るのではないか*1」。呪い〔魅惑〕とはつねに、絵によるのであれ彫刻によるのであれ、なんらかの表象の効果であり、表象は他者の携帯を捕獲し捕縛する。［中略］したがってパルマコンという単語は、絵の色のことをも、すなわちzographèmeが書き込まれる素材［ルビ：マチエール］をも指すのだ。

『国家』も画家の使う色彩をパルマカと呼んでいる〔420c〕。つまりエクリチュールと絵画の魔法は、死者を生身のように見せかけて偽る白粉［ルビ：おしろい］の魔法なのである。パルマコンは死を導入しかくまう。それは死体によい顔色［ルビ：フィギュール］を与え、死体に仮面を被せて化粧をする。

要点を抜粋すると以下のようになる。
・学習時間の増大を阻む要因(1) アルバイト：アルバイト時間が長いほど平均学習時間は短い傾向
ただし「学費のためにアルバイトをしている学生(低所得層に多い)の方が予習・復習の時間はむしろ長い」「学業成績についても同様の傾向が確認できる」
・学習時間の増大を阻む要因(2) 授業出席時間(履修科目数)の多さ：1〜2年生では平均13〜14科目登録、授業への出席率は高い、1セメスタ当たり20単位以上修得（3年生で卒業要件を満たす）
「 1年生では、単位の過剰修得は成績を下げる」「低学年時の授業時間(履修科目数)の多さは要検討」
・教育改革と学習時間の関係：授業内容・方法の工夫は予習・復習の時間にプラス
しかし、学習時間の規定要因として「教育改革の取組の効果はきわめて限定的」
要は「日本の大学生の学習時間が少ない」のは、大学での履修単位数そのものが多く、さらには4年次は就職活動が入ってくるため、とりわけ1〜3年次に授業のコマを詰め込まざるを得ないから、ということらしい。
これは勤務先の大学の学生を見ていても、体感的に納得できる。とくに私の所属学科の場合は取れる資格のヴァリエーションも多いため（中高の国語科・書道科・美術科教免、博物館学芸員、図書館司書、司書教諭、日本語教員）、例えば「教職と学芸員をダブル履修」となると、年間の履修単位が50近くになることもある。
ここから先は、別の論点。学生はぎゅうぎゅうに授業を詰め込んでいるにもかかわらず、なぜ4年生になっても人文学における作品分析の基礎知識（「作者の意図」と「可能な作品解釈」の峻別だとか、「想像の共同体」「創られた伝統」「オリエンタリズム」といった類の権力作用に対する批判的概念だとか）を「聞いたことすらない」者が大量発生しているのかと疑問に思っていたのだが、資格科目のヴォリュームに押されていることもあり、そういう「そもそもの基礎を理論的・体系的に教える授業」が設計されていないという構造的欠陥があったのだ。この点は、新任の博物館学の教員も問題視していた（＝「そもそも博物館とは何か」という基礎概念が教えられることがないまま、「展示はどうやるのか」といったテクニカルなレベルの授業に終始してしまっている）ので、学科単位で改善策を講じていくつもり。

Twitter経由で「fashionology:ファッション学研究会」が発足し、文献購読の候補として、The Fashion Reader*1という書が挙げられているのを知る*2。英語圏で充実している、学部生・修士課程生を対象とした教科書的アンソロジーだろうか。ファッションをテーマとした講義で、「学部生に教えるべき基礎と体系は何なのか」について見取り図を得るのにも役立ちそうなので、さっそくオンライン購入した。
